Washington 511: Road Conditions & Traffic

Both directions of SR 20 remain closed between Colonial Creek Campground (MP 130) and Porcupine Creek (MP 156). No public access allowed, including hiking, biking or camping. Work on first of two emergency contracts began Tuesday, May 5, to clear rockslide at MP 131. There is no estimate when North Cascades Hwy will reopen. From 7 a.m., Monday, May 4 to 4 p.m., Friday, May 29: The northbound I-5 Gee Creek Rest Area at milepost 11.3, will be closed for annual maintenance and repair work. To find the nearest rest area, visit: https://wsdot.wa.gov/travel/roads-bridges/rest-areas

Eastbound SR 904 On-Ramp to I- 90 Westbound is closed for Road Work beginning at 10:27 am on May 11, 2026, until Thursday, May 14th, at about 3:00 PM. Use other routes.

Beginning Monday, April 27, 2026, until further notice: Both directions of SR 504 at milepost 45.0 remain CLOSED at the winter gate for construction to rebuild the bridge and roadway. Construction is expected to be complete in spring 2027. On Sunday, May 14, 2023, a debris slide washed out the Spirit Lake Outlet Bridge and a portion of the highway. The road has been closed since. For everyones safety there is no access beyond the gate.

Nighttime Lane Closure with pilot car on US 395 both directions from milepost 174.1 near Wild Rose Rd to milepost 176.3 near Denison-Chattaroy Rd beginning at 6:30 pm on May 11 for guardrail installation. Work will occur each day between 6:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following day through May 15, 2026.

SR 410 Chinook is closed for the season due to increased avalanche risk. Eastbound is closed at milepost 57, Crystal Mountain Boulevard, 12 miles west of the summit, and westbound is closed at milepost 74.5 Morse Creek, 5 miles east of the summit.

Carlisle Avenue is closed between Greene and Ralph Street in Spokane, both directions as part of the North Spokane Corridor, Spokane River Crossing project, crews will rebuild and repave the roadway.

Closure on SR 194 both directions from milepost 14.0 near Hamilton Rd to milepost 18.3 near Wawawai-Pullman Rd beginning at 6:00 am on April 13, 2026 until about 5:00 pm on May 15, 2026. Road is closed for emergency culvert replacement. A signed detour is available via Hamilton Hill Rd and US 195.

Beginning Monday, April 13 and continuing weekdays through Friday, May 22: Both directions of SR 141 are closed between the SR 14/SR 141 Bingen interchange (milepost 0.0) and Meadows Corner (milepost 5.0), for water mainline work. Travelers in both directions of SR 141 will follow a detour using SR 141 ALT. Plan ahead, use caution and expect delays.

The SR 165 Carbon River/Fairfax Bridge is closed to all vehicles, bicyclists and pedestrians until further notice. The closure means there is no access across the bridge.

Collision on SR 7 northbound at milepost 50.05 near 149th St S beginning at 9:53 pm on May 13, 2026 until further notice. The northbound lanes are blocked. The center turn lane is blocked.

Lane closure on I-90 eastbound at milepost 279.49 near Latah Creek Bridge, left lane eastbound closed, Westbound is OPEN, beginning at 10:22 am on May 13, 2026 until further notice.

Collision on US 12 westbound at milepost 3.49 near Central Park Dr beginning at 9:23 pm on May 13, 2026 until further notice. The right lane is blocked.

On the US 2 westbound on-ramp from SR 204 (MP 2) there is a collision partially blocking the ramp. The State Patrol has arrived on the scene.

Collision on US 101 eastbound at milepost 215 near Heckel Rd beginning at 4:13 pm on May 13, 2026 until further notice.

Collision on SR 512 eastbound at milepost 2.22 near SR 7/Pacific Ave beginning at 5:58 pm on May 13, 2026 until further notice. The right lane is blocked.

Update 6:34 PM : On I-5 southbound just north of 116th St NE (MP 203) there is a collision blocking the left lane. The Incident Response Team, Tow Assistance, and the State Patrol have arrived on the scene.

Update 7:02 PM : On I-5 southbound just south of SR 18 (MP 140) there is a collision blocking the right lane. Medical Aid, Fire Assistance, and the Incident Response Team have arrived on the scene.

Update 5:59 PM : On the I-5 southbound on-ramp from WB SR 18 (MP 142) there is a collision blocking the left lane. The Incident Response Team has arrived on the scene.

Update 4:48 PM : On I-5 southbound just south of Old Fairhaven Pkwy (MP 250) there is a collision blocking the left lane. Medical Aid, Fire Assistance, the Incident Response Team, and the State Patrol have arrived on the scene.

Update 5:11 PM : On I-5 northbound at Bow Hill Rd (MP 236) there is a collision blocking the left lane. The Incident Response Team and the State Patrol have arrived on the scene.

Collision on US 12 eastbound at milepost 37.82 near Pearson Rd beginning at 3:56 pm on May 13, 2026 until further notice. The eastbound lane is blocked.

On I-405 northbound just south of Sunset Blvd NE (MP 5) there is a collision blocking the center lane.

Collision on I-5 northbound at milepost 133.86 beginning at 4:01 pm on May 13, 2026 until further notice.

On SR 516 westbound at I-5 (MP 2) there is a collision blocking the left lane. The State Patrol has arrived on the scene.

On SR 536 eastbound at Bennett Rd (MP 2) there is a collision blocking the lane. The State Patrol has arrived on the scene.

On I-5 southbound just north of Union St (MP 166) there is a collision blocking the right center lane.

Update 12:00 PM : On I-5 southbound just north of S Spokane St (MP 163) there is a collision blocking the HOV lane. The Incident Response Team and the State Patrol have arrived on the scene.
