Does it work on a weak cellular signal?
Yes. The app caches map layers and is built as a lightweight native client, so it keeps working on the spotty coverage you hit on remote interstates and at truck stops, then refreshes when signal returns.
How is the app different from the website?
The website and app share the same live 511 and weather data. The app adds native extras: background location, push alerts for hazards on your route, offline-cached map layers, and faster performance on weak connections.
Which states are covered?
Live road incidents come from 40+ state DOT 511 systems, and National Weather Service alerts cover all 50 US states. We add more state feeds over time.
Does the app track my location?
