Yes. Trucker Route is free on the App Store: no subscription, no account, no paywall. Every feature is free, including 511 conditions, weather alerts, and routing.
Which devices does it support?
Trucker Route is a native iOS app for iPhone and iPad, and requires iOS 17 or later. It is optimized for in-cab use on both phone and tablet screens.
Does it work on a weak cellular signal?
Yes. The app caches map layers and is built as a lightweight native client, so it keeps working on the spotty coverage you hit on remote interstates and at truck stops, then refreshes when signal returns.
How is the app different from the website?
The website and app share the same live 511 and weather data. The app adds native extras: background location, push alerts for hazards on your route, offline-cached map layers, and faster performance on weak connections.
Which states are covered?
Live incident feeds come from 41 state DOTs, 6 more send work zones only, and there is no feed yet for Connecticut, New Jersey or Rhode Island. National Weather Service alerts cover all 50 states. We add more state feeds over time.
Does the app track my location?
The app uses your location only to center the map and plan routes from where you are. There is no account and no personal tracking. See the privacy policy for details.
