Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using trucker-route.com (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms & Disclaimer and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

What Trucker Route is

Trucker Route is a free tool that shows weather, road conditions, closures, and hazards on a map, and publishes reference summaries of trucking regulations by state. It is provided for general information and planning.

You do not need an account for any of that. An optional free account, covered in section 05, lets a driver write a review of a company they worked for. The Service is free either way, and we do not sell anything on it.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. An account is different: you must be at least 18 years old to create one and to write a review, which matches the federal minimum age for an interstate CDL. By using the Service you confirm that you meet whichever of these applies to you.

Your own responsibility

The map, the state pages, and the regulation pages work without a login. You are solely responsible for how you use the information, for your own compliance with the law each time you drive, and for any browser or local data you lose. Do not scrape, crawl, or automate access beyond normal browser use, and do not attempt to bypass rate limits or security measures.

Accounts and reviews

This section applies only if you create an account and write a review. Nothing in it changes how the map or the reference pages work.

Your account

You sign in with Google or with a code we email you. We do not issue passwords, and we never see yours. One person gets one account, and you are responsible for everything posted from it, so do not hand it to anyone else. If you think someone else is using your account, email legal@trucker-route.com, or tell us through the feedback form on the About page and leave an email address we can answer at. You can delete your account yourself at any time in Settings; the Privacy Policy says exactly what deletion removes and what it does not.

You keep your review. We get a licence to publish it.

The words are yours and they stay yours. By submitting a review you grant Trucker Route a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and excerpt it: on the company page, in lists and search results on this site, and in the previews and share cards that carry a link back to it. The licence lasts while the review is published. Withdraw the review, or delete your account and ask for your reviews to come down, and it ends, except for copies already cached or indexed by someone else, which we cannot reach.

By submitting a review you confirm that you worked for the company, that the review is your own experience, that everything in it is your own to post, and that you were not paid or rewarded by anyone to post it.

We host what drivers write. We do not vouch for it.

A review is the account and the opinion of the driver who wrote it. It is not a statement by Trucker Route. Under 47 U.S.C. 230 we provide an interactive computer service, and we are not the publisher or the speaker of what a user posts on it. We do not investigate whether a review is accurate, and publishing one is not our endorsement of it. If you believe a review is false or breaks our rules, use the Report link on the review itself.

A "Verified driver" badge means one thing and no more: the author submitted a pay or settlement document that a moderator reviewed. Trucker Route does not confirm employment. Documents are never shown to anyone else.

Moderation, and the one thing we never do

• Every review is read before it appears. We may accept it, decline it with a reason, ask you for more information, or remove it later. We aim to decide within five business days.
• We are not obliged to publish anything. Moderation is at our discretion, and a decision to decline is not a judgment about you.
• We never edit the text of a review. Not to soften it, not to tidy it, not because a company asked. The only actions we take are accept, decline, and remove. If part of a review cannot stay, the whole review goes and we tell the author why.
• One review per company. Write about as many companies as you actually worked for, but only one review each. Update the one you have instead of posting a second.

Nobody is paid for a review

We do not pay for reviews, we do not offer anything in exchange for one, and we do not take money from a company to publish, hide, reorder, or delete a review. Buying or selling reviews is prohibited by the FTC rule on consumer reviews and testimonials, 16 CFR 465.4, and an account that does it will be terminated. If you own or manage the company you are writing about, say so in the box provided; that disclosure is published with the review.

Documents you attach

A document you upload to support a review is seen by a moderator and by nobody else. It is never published and never shown to the company. We delete it 30 days after a review is approved and 7 days after one is declined. Black out your Social Security number, your bank details, and your home address before you upload anything. See the Privacy Policy for how those files are stored.

Ending an account

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these Terms, posts what our review rules prohibit, or games the system. A suspended account cannot post, upload, or send messages, and it cannot be replaced by signing up again with the same Google account. Sections that by their nature survive, including the licence for reviews still published, the disclaimers, the limitation of liability, and the indemnity, survive termination.

Reference information, not legal advice

The regulation pages summarize state and federal rules for professional drivers. They are written from public sources, including state statutes, state DMV and DOT pages, FMCSA, CVSA, and the AAA Digest of Motor Laws. They are a starting point, not the law itself.

• Laws change. Legislatures amend statutes, agencies change fines, and DOTs re-sign roads. A figure that was correct when we reviewed it may already be stale.
• Posted signs win. The sign, signal, or officer in front of you controls, not this page. Where a posted restriction and our summary differ, follow what is posted.
• Local rules vary. Counties and cities add their own truck routes, bans, curfews, and clearances that a statewide summary cannot fully capture.
• Verify before you rely. Confirm anything that affects a decision with the state agency or the primary source we cite. Each page shows its "Last reviewed" date and source.

Nothing here is legal, tax, safety, or compliance advice, and using the Service does not create any professional relationship. For a decision with legal or financial consequences, consult the official source or a qualified professional.

Free, best-effort service

The Service is provided free and on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, feature availability, response time, or the accuracy or completeness of any data, including live weather, road, and hazard feeds sourced from third parties. We may rate-limit, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice.

Third-party data and links

The Service relies on data and feeds from government agencies and other third parties, and links to external sites we do not control. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of third-party sources, and their own terms and policies apply to your use of them.

If you choose to sign in with Google, Google provides that sign-in and its own terms and privacy policy apply to your use of your Google account. Sign-in codes are sent by email through a mail provider, and the Privacy Policy names it.

Intellectual property

The Trucker Route name, logo, site design, source code, and the way we organize and present our content are owned by the operator. You may read and share our pages, but you may not copy, scrape, or redistribute the Service or its content at scale without permission.

This does not cover reviews and anything else a driver writes. Those stay with the driver, under the licence in section 05.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT, INCLUDING THE REGULATION SUMMARIES, ANY WEATHER, ROAD, OR HAZARD DATA, AND ANY REVIEW OR OTHER MATERIAL SUBMITTED BY A USER, ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. TRUCKER ROUTE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY INFORMATION, INCLUDING LEGAL OR REGULATORY SUMMARIES AND USER-SUBMITTED REVIEWS, IS ACCURATE, CURRENT, OR COMPLETE.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRUCKER ROUTE AND ITS OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY FINE, PENALTY, CITATION, DELAY, LOSS, OR DAMAGE ARISING FROM YOUR RELIANCE ON ANY INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY REVIEW SUBMITTED BY A USER. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the limitations above may not apply to you.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Trucker Route and its operator from any claim, damage, liability, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the Service, your reliance on its information, any review, document, or other content you submit, or your violation of these Terms, of another person's rights, or of applicable law.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new version number and date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms, and a change that affects accounts may ask you to accept it again before you post.

What happens after you send the form. It opens a thread and a person reads it. Sign in first and our answer waits in your account, where the whole thread stays. Leave an email address in the form instead and we write back to it. Leave neither and we read what you sent but have no way to reply. We read reports of out-of-date regulation data and use them to keep the pages current, and we answer legal requests within five business days.
