🚧 Update: Eagle Beach Kayak Launch Ramp 6/1/2026 (JNU005) 🚧
Culvert work on the Eagle Beach kayak launch ramp is complete, and the road is now temporarily open to the public with pending paving and guardrail replacement. Due to current site conditions, please be aware of the following:
⚠️ No guardrail in place
⚠️ Uneven surface conditions
⚠️ Use extra caution when accessing the area
The previous closure (May 28–31) is complete. Crews will return to complete paving and final restoration at a later date. The kayak launch will be fully restored once work is finished.
Please plan ahead, expect changing conditions, and use caution in the work zone. Thank you for your patience as we complete these important improvements!

SAYLES/GORGE STREET VIADUCT IMPROVEMENT: Sayles Street and Gorge Street are fully CLOSED to vehicles through the fall of 2026. Pedestrian access to residences will be maintained. Expect increased heavy vehicle traffic in the area and use caution near the work zone.
Crews will begin drilling the abutment piling and bent piling. During this work expect increased noise while drilling is taking place. Expect an increase in heavy equipment traffic around the project site. Please use caution when traveling in the project area.
