Work Zone Laws No. AR Enhanced fines in the zone

Arkansas Work Zone Laws

Arkansas doubles the fine for any moving violation when construction crews are in the zone (Ark. Code §27-50-408). On conviction the judge adds a second fine equal to the first, but only if personnel were present and 'Fines Double' signs stood in advance of the zone. Since August 5, 2025 a hands-free rule bans holding a phone in a work zone (Act 445, §27-51-1606). Act 327 of 2025 pulled mobile work zones under the doubling too.
