Maine Weigh Stations & Ag Inspection
Maine makes any bus or truck registered over 10,000 lb stop at a weighing point when the signs are lit, and an officer can order any vehicle onto the scale (29-A M.R.S. §2358). I-95 stations sit at Kittery and York southbound and at Hampden, run by State Police Troop K. Drivewyze is the only bypass, so no green signal means you pull in. Fail to stop when signs are operating and it is a traffic infraction up to $500.

Stations, bypass, and inspection
- Who must stop: Over a weight threshold
- Where the stations are: Fixed scales on I-95 at Kittery and York (southbound) and at Hampden, run by State Police Troop K. Signs with flashing yellow lights mark when the weighing point is operating; portable scales and roving patrols cover other roads.
- Bypass: Drivewyze PreClear only. Drivewyze is the only bypass service in Maine, with its main site on I-95 near Kittery. PrePass is not offered. No green signal means you pull in.
- Ag / border inspection: No state produce-inspection stations. The Canadian border crossings run federal CBP, not a state ag stop.
- Fine for passing an open station: A traffic infraction with a fine up to $500 for failing to stop when the signs are operating (29-A M.R.S. §2358). Running an out-of-service sticker is a separate Class E crime.
