Missouri Truck Speed Limit
Trucks run the same limits as cars in Missouri. 70 on rural interstates, 65 on rural expressways, and 60 inside the St. Louis and Kansas City urbanized areas (RSMo 304.010). No split. Two-lane state roads top out at 55 for everybody. Watch the work zones, where Missouri stacks extra penalties when workers are present.

Truck-specific rules and quirks
- The 60 mph limit applies on interstates, freeways and expressways inside any urbanized area, which RSMo 304.010 defines as 50,000 population at a density of 1,000 or more per square mile, so Springfield, Columbia and Joplin count too, not just St. Louis and Kansas City. Rural interstates and freeways rise from 70 to 75 on August 28, 2026 under S.B. 1408 (2026); until that date, and until MoDOT changes the sign, 70 is the number that binds. No weight-based truck differential anywhere in the state.
What a speeding ticket costs
Graduated and county-dependent; Missouri runs a points system. No special truck fine, but 'Endangerment of a Highway Worker' (RSMo 304.582) raises the stakes in an active work zone.
