North Carolina Truck Lane Restrictions

North Carolina added a statewide truck left-lane ban effective December 1, 2025. A vehicle rated 26,001 lb GVWR or more may not use the left-most lane of a controlled-access highway with six or more lanes (N.C.G.S. 20-146(f)). It's an infraction, up to $100. The law is new, so older guides won't list it.
