Which lanes a truck can use in Nebraska

Nebraska has no truck-only left-lane law. The rule that applies to you is the general keep-right (Neb. Rev. Stat. 60-6,131): drive on the right half, and if you are slower than traffic, stay in the right lane except to pass or turn left. Same rule for every vehicle. It is a traffic infraction, with a scheduled fine around $25 plus roughly $49 in court costs. Pass on the left, then move back right.

• Where it applies: All roadways statewide. No truck-only corridor and no Omaha or Lincoln metro truck-lane routing. I-80 has no left-lane truck ban.
• General rule: Neb. Rev. Stat. 60-6,131 - drive on the right half of the roadway; any vehicle slower than normal traffic speed must keep to the right-hand lane except to pass or turn left.
• Nebraska overhauled its traffic penalty schedule effective September 2025; the keep-right violation stayed a low-level infraction. No truck-lane statute in Chapter 60.
