Which lanes a truck can use in Maine

Maine has no statewide truck lane ban, but the Maine Turnpike does. On the three-lane sections (from the New Hampshire line up to Exit 48 in Westbrook), trucks can't use the far-left lane. Stay in the two right lanes and pass in the middle. Off the Turnpike it's plain keep-right: on 65-mph limited-access roads every vehicle stays right except to pass (29-A M.R.S. 2052).

• General rule: 29-A M.R.S. 2052 - on limited-access ways posted 65 mph or higher, every vehicle stays in the right lane except to overtake and pass, then returns right.
• This flags Maine on the strength of a state-authority source: the Maine Turnpike Authority's Highway Safety page states trucks are prohibited from the far-left lane on the three-lane sections. There is no statewide truck-specific statute; 29-A M.R.S. 2052 is a general keep-right for all vehicles. Treat the mile-marker geography (below Exit 44) as approximate.
