Oklahoma Studded Tire Law
Oklahoma allows metal studs only November 1 to April 1, and only on vehicles with a rated capacity of 2 tons or less (47 O.S. 12-405). That capacity cap is the catch for a rig: a loaded commercial truck blows past 2 tons, so studs are effectively off-limits on a Class-8 here, season or not. Where studs are legal, they must cover no more than 3% of the tread and project no more than 3/32 inch. Run chains instead.

- Season: November 1 to April 1 (47 O.S. 12-405) — and only on vehicles with a rated capacity of 2 tons or less
- No M+S/3PMSF traction-tire mandate. Chains are allowed for safety on slick roads. Studs do not count as chains and do not satisfy a chain-control order. See the Oklahoma chain-law page.
