Sleeping overnight in Missouri

No time limit. Missouri sets no maximum stay, so you can park overnight and sleep in the cab as long as you need to be safe to drive (MoDOT rest-area policy). Rest inside the vehicle, but don't camp: no tents or outside setups. Rest areas are open 24 hours. Reference, not legal advice.

Limits, truck parking, and HOS rest

• Time limit: No posted limit
• Missouri runs 12 rest areas, 7 welcome centers, and about 30 truck-only parking sites, but I-70 lots sit over capacity at peak. Real-time info comes through MoDOT's Traveler Information Map (app / traveler.modot.org); Missouri isn't in MAASTO TPIMS. The Improve I-70 program is adding about 255 truck spaces at Concordia, Boonville, Mineola, and Wright City.
• HOS exception: not addressed, but with no time limit there is nothing to overstay, so a full federal reset is fine. Dual lens: policy and practice agree that overnight rest is allowed statewide; the only line is camping, where staying in the vehicle is 'resting' and setting up outside is 'camping.' Weigh/inspection stations are not for overnight rest; welcome centers follow the same no-camping, no-limit approach as rest areas.
