Wisconsin Move-Over Law

Wisconsin now covers the whole shoulder. Under 2025 Act 54 you move over for emergency and roadside-service vehicles, tow trucks, utility crews, and any disabled vehicle showing hazards, flares, or a person standing next to it. If you can't change lanes safely, slow down and stay slow until you clear it. A ticket runs $30 to $300 and comes with a license suspension (Wis. Stat. 346.072).
