Kentucky Move-Over Law

Kentucky widened its law in July 2024. Move over a lane for emergency and public safety vehicles with their lights on, and now for any disabled vehicle showing flashers, flares, or reflective triangles. On a road with fewer than four lanes, or when you can't move over safely, slow down and hold a safe speed. A violation is a Class B misdemeanor: $60 to $500 and up to 30 days in jail (KRS 189.930).
