• Find the current order: No single statewide frost map. Check the city or town public works or DPW that posts the local ways at both ends of your run, watch for the posted signs, and confirm any state through-route posting with MassDOT.
• Overweight penalty: A posted-way violation is enforced under the municipality's regulation. The state overweight penalty (M.G.L. c.90 § 20) is tiered: $40 for each 1,000 lb over the limit up to 10,000 lb over, then $80 for each 1,000 lb beyond that. Confirm the local penalty with the municipality.
