Obey posted county and city bridge/road weight-limit signs, which run year-round, and confirm heavy or oversize movements with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) permit office before you roll.
• Overweight penalty: No seasonal-overweight fine, because there's no state seasonal limit. Plain overweight draws Kentucky's standard penalty of 2 cents per pound of excess load, with a $100 to $500 fine once the excess tops 5,000 lb (weight rules under KRS 189.222; penalties under KRS 189.990).
