Nevada Truck Following Distance

500 feet - but only truck-behind-truck. If you're 80 inches or wider and following another rig 80-plus inches wide, leave 500 feet so a car can pass and pull back in (NRS 484B.127). It's off on any road with two or more lanes your way, and it never stops you passing. Behind a car or in traffic it's the general 'reasonable and prudent' standard - a misdemeanor, 4 demerit points. Troopers write that general rule for tailgating; the 500-foot number is a convoy tool.
