WWEX and Auctane Merge to Launch AI-Powered ShipStation Global
Key Details Dallas-based WWEX Group and shipping software provider Auctane have completed their merger, creating ShipStation Global. The new company combines WWEX's freight brokerage and transportation network with Auctane's shipping technology products, including ShipStation, Stamps.com, Metapack and Packlink. Thoma Bravo provides backing while CVC Funds and other investors retain minority stakes. What This Means for the Industry ShipStation Global now serves over 3 million customers and handles more than 3 billion shipments annually. The platform connects parcel, LTL, truckload and international shipping through a single interface, supported by 75+ LTL carriers, 350 regional and international carriers, and approximately 45,000 truckload carriers. Why It Matters The merger reflects an industry-wide trend of consolidation focused on AI capabilities and expanded services. CEO Tom Madine noted that SMBs previously had to piece together multiple tools and relationships to compete. This unified platform eliminates that friction point. The company headquarters will be based in Texas with offices in Dallas and Austin, positioning it as a major player in logistics technology.
