TIACA Executive Director Hughes Stepping Down Year-End

Key Details Glyn Hughes is resigning as executive director of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) at year-end after leading the organization for five years. TIACA represents shippers, forwarders, ground handlers, airports, airlines, manufacturers and IT providers across the global air cargo sector. The organization has launched a search for Hughes' replacement as director general. What He Accomplished During his tenure, TIACA membership surpassed 500 members and expanded significantly. Hughes established sustainability awards programs, created Pharma.aero for pharmaceutical supply chain collaboration, built an online training library, and appointed regional representatives in Latin America, India, China and the Middle East. The organization also expanded its event calendar, now hosting major forums in Miami and Abu Dhabi on a rotating basis. Why It Matters Hughes shifted TIACA's focus toward outreach programs in safety, security, digitalization and innovation rather than regulatory advocacy. His leadership came during critical pandemic recovery years and gave the organization more strategic autonomy than previous leadership had. His departure marks the second major air cargo trade association leadership change this year, following Brandon Fried's resignation from the Airforwarders Association last month.
