San Bernardino Hub Launches 76 Charging Ports for Regional Fleets
Key Details EV Realty opened a major truck charging facility in San Bernardino with 76 high-power ports and 9.9 MW of grid capacity. The hub can serve over 200 medium and heavy-duty trucks daily using a shared infrastructure model called Powered Properties. Initial customers include J.B. Hunt Transport, Gate City Beverage, and fully electric carrier Nevoya. Why It Matters The Inland Empire has long lacked sufficient charging infrastructure for commercial electrification at scale. Located near the San Bernardino Intermodal Facility and close to I-10 and I-215, this site directly serves the nearly 17,000 medium and heavy-duty trucks operating in the region. The facility eliminates the need for individual carriers to build and maintain their own dedicated charging depots. Technical Capabilities The hub features Kempower charging hardware with ports offering up to 1.2 MW for next-generation Class 8 tractors and 500 kW for current electric trucks. Spring-assisted cables improve driver ergonomics, while Synop fleet management software handles power management, reservations, and performance reporting. The site operates 24/7 with on-site staff, security, and driver amenities.
