Key Details Daimler Truck North America has launched factory production of an exterior camera system for vocational and medium-duty trucks ahead of peak construction season. The system will be available on Freightliner and Western Star models, including the M2 106 Plus, eM2, 114SD Plus, 108SD Plus, and Western Star's 47X, 49X, and 57X lineups. How It Works The camera setup provides three distinct views: left side, right side, and forward-facing coverage. The forward-facing grille-mounted camera can be manually activated when operators need extra visibility. Daimler also offers a pre-wire option for fleets wanting to install their own cameras. Competitive Moves Mack Trucks introduced CommandView for the Granite model at ConExpo-Con/Agg, available for order in late 2027.
